Michelle Whymark, MSc

Michelle is a Senior Geologist with 20 years of experience in the Oil and Gas Industry. She worked for 15 years at SLB where she developed extensive expertise in 3D reservoir modelling in Petrel as onsite support for major operators (Petrobras, Shell, Equinor, Chevron, among others). During her assignment in Norway at the SLB Technology Center, she led the integration between Petrel and GeoX, releasing the Play and Prospect Assessment module for Exploration.

She has a strong knowledge in Mature Field Rejuvenation having built multiple reservoir models of important fields in Brazil. Her latest work includes the geomodelling of Papa-Terra (Campos basin), Peroá-Cangoá-Malombe (Espírito Santo basin) and multiple onshore and shallow water fields in Potiguar basin.

In 2022, she founded MIVA Consulting offering integrated subsurface solutions targeting multiple industries (Oil & Gas, Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS), Geothermal energy, and Environmental). Its mission is to unleash the real value of the models, enhancing their reliability and performance by applying High Resolution Sequence Stratigraphy principles and fine-tuned adjustments between static, dynamic and geomechanical models.

She a has a Master degree from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and is also an instructor for Petrel training courses.
